Elke Judith Wagner, born in 1953 in Koblenz, Germany, studied sculpture at the Academy of Arts in Berlin, and graduated as a master student.

With her hands, the passionate artist formed brittle concrete action to large and small organic forms, impressive reliefs and sculptures - free from figurative references.

Her material related imagery is reflected in her drawings and paintings. Flowing, organic lines and lively forms in harmony with abstract colour spaces.

Designation for the painting and sculpture detached from the representational portrayal, which spread from around 1910 in ever new style variations across the whole western and parts of the eastern world. Russian painter Wassily Kandinsky, born in 1866, is considered to be the founder of abstract art. Among other important artists of abstract art are K.S. Malewitsch, Piet Mondrian, and others.
