Short description
Ars mundi exclusive edition | Giclée on canvas | Replica | Wedge frame| Format ca. 40.5 x 40.5 cm
Pompeii was deemed one of the most beautiful cities of the Roman Kingdom, until the year 79 A.C., when Vesuvius erupted, burying the city in a few minutes under a thick layer of ash and pumice. The dreadful natural disaster is today a stroke of luck for art history. Nowhere else remained frescoes and art objects of that time so well preserved.
Two Women, 1st century A.C.: This replica was made exclusively for ars mundi, accurate in every detail, after originals in the archeological National Museum, Naples. Griddles reproduction as giclée edition on real art canvas. Traditionally stretched on a wedge frame. Format ca. 40.5 x 40.5 cm.
