Odysseus, Circe and pigs: on his way home to his wife Penelope, Odysseus had to undergo many adventures. Even when he cunningly escaped the influence of the beautiful sorceress Circe, he had to help his companions as Circe had turned them into pigs.
Paul Wunderlich was inspired by Homer's history and created a modern Circe. She wears a flower trimmed dress that does not hide her charms. In her hand she holds the magic wand. Circe enchanted us with her grace and beauty that the artist achieves using his refined stylistic devices. He reduces the plastic elements on the face which gets its ductility through the shaping and through the subtle rises.
