In 1953 the brothers Juan, José and Vicente Lladró founded near Valencia / Spain, a porcelain factory and initially produced vases and small pots. Three years later they decided to produce figurines. Since 1956 the works of art of the finest porcelain have been impressing the steadily growing number of their fans worldwide. Since 1974 all the figurines made by Lladró are wearing a blue bellflower as the logo._x000D_

The descendants of the three founding Lladró brothers have also devoted themselves to the art of porcelain. The recipe of the specially created porcelain paste, which gives the figurines their unique character, is a well-guarded company secret. The composition of the gloss coating is secret as well. Meanwhile many limited editions have become sought-after collectors' objects._x000D_
