Peter Paul, born in 1943, was a student of Paul Wunderlich during his studies at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg and worked together with both Jones and David Hockney. Exhibitions in Basel, Paris, Tokyo, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Hamburg and New York recognize his work. Peter Paul has helped the architectural representation within the modern art to new validity. While possibly Canaletto and Guardi illustrated in the 18th century the reality in their Veduten so faithfully that one could carry out historic reconstructions after their models, the "architectures" are derived from Peter Paul, certainly, from historic buildings, but they increase the reality in the Surreal. For this purpose the artist graphic means, which provides him the medium of lithography available served. Through perspective shifts, spatial overlays and dramatic contrasts Peter Paul achieved exciting effects that allow the viewer to experience the new architecture.
