Johann Hinger: Picture "Landscape in the Ruhr Area"

Johann Hinger has spent several years working in the Ruhr area and as a result has created very personal oil paintings, watercolors and drawings. Impetus for this artistic exploration were the stereotypes and prejudices against the Ruhr area, with which the Austrian encountered time and again during his home visits.

Therefore, Hinger's works are not a farewell to the Ruhr area, rather on the contrary. In these pictures, this region has made peace with its history, has healed many wounds and is ready fora new start in the 21st century.

Fine art giclée on 308g Hahnemuhle paper. Limited edition of 199 copies, numbered and hand signed. Unframed. Sheet format 51 x 60 cm (H/W). ars mundi special edition.

Giclée = derived from the French verb gicler meaning "to squirt, spray".

Giclée method is a digital printing process. It is a high-resolution, large-format printout on an inkjet printer with special different coloured or pigment-based inks (usually six to twelve). The colours are light-fast, that is, resistant to harmful UV light. They have a high richness of nuance, contrast and saturation.

The Giclée process is suitable for real art canvas, handmade and watercolor paper and for silk.
