There are the portraits of domestic and foreign statesmen, Karl-Heinz Laval nationwide gained fame and recognition. Even if he seems to belong to pop art to Andy Warhol at first sight to the generation, the German takes a special way to claim. Compared to the often muted colours of the American artist he use other techniques. "I use transparent colours, which then overlap achieve a stronger effect.

Born in St. Inge Bert in 1941 graduated from Laval 1967 Werkkunstschule in Saarbrucken at Oskar Holweck and Robert Sessler. Even as a student, he was awarded for his art photographs with the gold medal at the photo exhibition in Braunschweig. The photographer, painter and graphic designer has become one of the most important Pop-Art artists of the 20th century.

Laval continued to develop the technique and referred to his method screenprinting as "Aura Light Technology". It all starts with a meaningful black and white photography, a special portrait. From Laval supplies the inspiration for the artistic end product - the screenprint. In several steps, he coated by very fine screens superimposed transparent colours. So his motives are historically and by the vibrant complexity equally timelessly modern. Laval finished all operations itself and by hand, from the photo to the finished artwork.

He now lives in Saarbrucken Eschringen and works there in his own screen-printing studio.
