Short description
Limited, 199 copies | Numbered | Hand-signed | Reproduction, giclée on canvas | Stretcher | Studio frame | Format ca. 44 x 44 cm
Ule W. Ritgens "The Four Seasons"at ars mundi.
This series can be also called "The Four Daytimes", as each of the motifs contains a large number of symbols with the same meaning: "Everything repeats circularly...", said Goethe, and he was right. So, for example, the "Spring" stands for the morning, for the beginning, and the "Autumn" symbolizes the evening and the unavoidable farewell. "But there are the birds that give wings to the pictures...". All four motifs appeared in the 12-parts cycle "Wings", that was created not so long ago in collaboration with Susan Olendorf.
Giclée on canvas. Limited by 199 copies, numbered on the back side and signed by hand. Mounted on a stretcher. Stretcher frame format ca. 40 x 40 cm. Framed in solid wood studio frame with a shadow joint. Format ca. 44 x 44 cm.
