Short description
Limited, 301 Copies | Numbered | Hand Signed | Colour Lithograph on Handmade Paper | Unframed | Format 50 x 65 cm
The fascination of the orchid, its aesthetics and symbolism inspired Paul Wunderlich to his graphic sequence "Orchids". He exploits the lithographic capabilities to their utmost. Surface structuring is formed by refined lavis, modeling of surfaces by iris printing and application of airbrush. His flower motifs stand in the tradition of still life as allegorical representation. This results in a precisely formulated ambiguous, mythical and elegant world. Elongated calyxes and petals unfold their own world in the service of beauty and aesthetics. Sketches are near the executed image areas. They are opening the viewer's imagination, they seduce to digression, they point to the executed image areas, to concentration.
Original colour lithograph on Rives paper. Limited edition of 301 copies, numbered and hand signed. Unframed. Sheet format 50 x 65 cm.
