Namazbek Chekirov: Picture "New York City"

Exclusively for ars mundi, the original oil paint was transferred in brilliant colors on canvas using the giclée technique. The gridless technique reproduces so exactly the brush strokes and texture, that it creates the impression of an original painting. Traditionally stretched on a wedge frame so that to allow subsequent stretching in case of temperature variations.

Giclée on art canvas. Limited edition, 750 exemplars, serially numbered on the back side and hand-signed by the artist. Stretched on wedge frame Format 65 x 100 cm.

Namazbek Chekirov Namazbek Chekirov was born on February 6, 1979 in the former Soviet republic in a remote region in Kyrgyzstan. He was fascinated by the painting of nature, especially flowers, animals, as well as regions and towns from the early age. His painting offers us extraordinary impressions and authentic details. In his paintings, the time seems to stand still and yet they remain appealing and delicate. Figurative painting is another thematic priority of his works.

When Chekirov visited the New York metropolis for the first time, he was simply overwhelmed. He immediately began photographing homes and neighborhoods. Later he turned them into his paintings. In his works New York is portrayed as a melting pot of cultures, as the light-flooded heartbeat of modernity. Strong penetrating colors help him to present the momentary impressions of the big in a modern language of art.

Graphic or sculpture edition that was initiated by ars mundi and is available only at ars mundi or at distribution partner licensed by ars mundi.

Giclée = derived from the French verb gicler meaning "to squirt, spray".

Giclée method is a digital printing process. It is a high-resolution, large-format printout on an inkjet printer with special different coloured or pigment-based inks (usually six to twelve). The colours are light-fast, that is, resistant to harmful UV light. They have a high richness of nuance, contrast and saturation.

The Giclée process is suitable for real art canvas, handmade and watercolor paper and for silk.
