Short description

Sheet metal 3 mm | with bolt | rust patina | height 175 cm | weight ca. 12 kg

Standing figure "Monique" in life-size

New forms of expression are based not only on inspiration. There are also the new technical possibilities. The finely finished life-size human silhouettes of sheet metal are feasible only with the state-of-the-art plasma cutting technique. However - as unusual they might look at first sight - they remain in the tradition of great sculpture, which started in stone and marble in Greece.

The sculpture "Monique" shows, according to the technique, a modern, contemporary man, being suitable as eye-catcher in the garden. The pipe welded on the backside ensures a satisfactory stability. The sculpture can be anchored in the ground using the attached bolt.

Large sculpture "Monique" with bolt: Height 175 cm. Made of 3 mm sheet metal and with rust patina. Weight ca. 12 kg.

A plastic work of sculptural art made of wood, stone, ivory, bronze or other metals.

While sculptures from wood, ivory or stone are made directly from the block of material, for bronze casting a working model is prepared at first. Usually it is made of clay or other easily shaped materials.

The prime time of sculpture after the Roman antiquity was the Renaissance. Impressionism gave a new impulse to the sculptural arts. Also the contemporary artists, such as Jorg Immendorf, Andora, and Markus Lupertz enriched the sculpture with outstanding works.
