Ulrike Langen: Picture "Dame de Coeur"

The happiness in love, the happiness in the play of life: the "Dame de Coeur" by Ulrike Langen. A man is only a man, where he plays, said Friedrich Schiller. Ulrike Langen makes even one step further: "The life itself is a game, man either masters it while playing or not." But she said it with the great optimism: her picture shows the the Queen of Hearts - and a happy command roll.

For a brilliant authentic reproduction the original was transferred directly on artistic canvas (100% cotton) and mounted on the stretcher. Limited edition of 199 copies, numbered on the back side and signed. Stretcher frame format 90 x 90 cm. Framed in an elaborate solid wood studio frame with a shadow joint. Format ca. 94 x 94 cm. Available exclusively at ars mundi.

Portrait of the artist Ulrike LangenBorn in Aalen (BW), Design studies, lives and works in Aalen and in Provence.

Their origin from the fashion industry denies Ulrike Langen also as a painter not: like she chooses bright, perfectly matched colours and linking coulour field painting with delicate graphic elements of antiquity and modernity. Many influences of the past, combined with extravagant motifs from life and everyday life, characterised by their works.

Langen shows dream worlds that are reminiscent of the pop art of Lichtenstein or Wesselmann. However, it remains committed to a not only "trendy", but quite classical concept of beauty.

Giclée = derived from the French verb gicler meaning "to squirt, spray".

Giclée method is a digital printing process. It is a high-resolution, large-format printout on an inkjet printer with special different coloured or pigment-based inks (usually six to twelve). The colours are light-fast, that is, resistant to harmful UV light. They have a high richness of nuance, contrast and saturation.

The Giclée process is suitable for real art canvas, handmade and watercolor paper and for silk.
