The art of silhouette: Cut-Outs
The paper cutting and the cutting out of objects on printed paper has a reputation for being a technique for early art education, but still it has long enjoyed the highest consecrations. In his later years, Henri Matisse "drew" with scissors and paper thus creating a new medium that revolutionized the understanding of color and form. And he was only at the beginning of a long line of artists who took up this technique.
Our cut-out follows this upheaval: they translate a three-dimensional sculpture into a two-dimensional art experience, without sacrificing the spatial effect of the work.
Brilliant reproduction on real photo print behind acrylic glass. Limited edition 499 copies, with a back numbered certificate. Size approx 91 x 23 x 4.5 cm (H/W/D). With a suspension device. ars mundi special edition.
