Thomas Baumgaertel (born in 1960) known as the "banana prayer" is now a respected artist, in whose series the pictures the yellow fruit plays a major role.
Since 1986, he has marked the most interesting worldwide art centers- from New York to Beijing - with his banana. Now, it is the logo of the modeern art scene and can be found on the portals of almost all galleries and modern art museums worldwide. For Baumgaertel, banana symbolizes the freedom of art, which also means the possibility to experience the subversive fun or establish the banal graffiti as an artistic logo in public spaces.
