Rainer Stiefvater: Garden Sculpture "The World", art bronze version.

His statues, wall reliefs and fountains, sculptural groups, material pictures and exhibitions at home and abroad have made Rainer Stiefvater widely known as the Baden painter and sculptor. His works are published only in small collection editions and quickly get sold out.

The author took inspiration from the archaic sculptural groups, decorating the Freibourg Cathedtal, and then, he turned back to the natural sources, the Magna Mater, celebrated in sping fests. This cycle is also symbolized by the age circles, which spread from shoulders to the top of the face. On the back of the figure there is a lizard, which, since late Midle Ages, is perceived as a symbol of dark forces.

Edition in polymer-bound art bronze. Edition 49 pieces. Height 165 cm.

A plastic work of sculptural art made of wood, stone, ivory, bronze or other metals.

While sculptures from wood, ivory or stone are made directly from the block of material, for bronze casting a working model is prepared at first. Usually it is made of clay or other easily shaped materials.

The prime time of sculpture after the Roman antiquity was the Renaissance. Impressionism gave a new impulse to the sculptural arts. Also the contemporary artists, such as Jorg Immendorf, Andora, and Markus Lupertz enriched the sculpture with outstanding works.

Bronze powder bound by a polymer. By special polishing and patination techniques the surface of the casting gets a look that corresponds to the bronze.
