The Tunis trip of Paul Klees, Louis Molliets and August Mackes has written art history: under African Sun they revolutionised their painting style one like the other, countless motifs found in the winding streets and newly coped with the pieces of form and colour.
Their first stop was the exclusive residential district of St Germain, the current EZ Zahra near Tunis. Ernst Jaggi, a doctor friend with Molliet lived here. His House still stands today. And even today, a century after the legendary journey, witnesses Macke Tunis pictures of his picturesque genius.
