Paul Thierry (* 1960) is regarded as masterful "radiologist" of Pop Art. His work is represented in many collections, including the art collection of the Federal Government and the famous hotel Burj Al Arab in Dubai.

Looking for new ways of expression, Thierry experimented with colours, materials and techniques. His delight in collecting, reviewing and combining of different materials creates multi-layered work. The artist paints directly to the canvas as a backgrounds motif. Attached with a small distance in an acrylic glass plate, which will be hand-painted in turn. The play of light and shadow, the multilayer, gives his works a further dimension, encourages as well to think how to smile.

Representation of typical scenes of daily life in painting, which can distinguish between peasant, bourgeois and courtly themes.

The genre reached its peak and immense popularity in the Dutch painting of the 17th century. In the 18th century, especially in France, the courtly and gallant painting comes to the fore while in Germany the bourgeois character was emphasised.
