Christoph Poggeler, born in 1958 in Munster, studied with Professor Alfonso Huppi at the State Academy of Art in Dusseldorf. He had numerous solo and group exhibitions in Europe, Asia and Africa. Poggeler is also active as a curator and lecturer; in 2008, he received the Rhenish art Prize for his work.

He lives and works in Dusseldorf. The artist has a great name as a sculptor and painter. He has been working as a sculptor since 2001, with the project "plaster saint" and presents people sculptures on pillars. As a painter he seeks and finds materials, surfaces and memory trails, in which he engages his pictures and his sets. Based on grain surface of layer of wood, which have traces of use and an its own past, Poggeler developed a special form of painting, that creates a picture of reality on the basis of the structural interface found in, which is realistic and surprising at the same time. He thus produces images of such high plausibility that you might think they had always been there.

Designation for an art object (sculpture, installation), which is produced according to the will of the artist in multiple copies in a limited and numbered edition.

Artist's multiple contributed to "democratization" of art as the work was made available and affordable for a wider audience.
