Central America shine: Pre-Columbian gold jewelry. Sinú culture was created on the lower courses of Rio Sinú and Rio Magdalena - here, the Spaniards assumed the legendary El Dorado. Sinú people created jewelry of gold and tumbaga. They believed in the power of the yellow metal: They were convinced that it could protect against evil forces.
Ear studs "Sinú": the originals of this jewelry piece is in the Gold Museum in Bogota/Columbia; in its own commissioned workshops were created the replicas (there, under recourse right) by traditional techniques. The ear studs made of square plates consist of metal plated with 24-carat gold, combined with small ceramic pearls. Format 1 x 3 cm each.
