Portrait of the artist Hermann GuentherThe painter and graphic artist Gunther Hermann born in 1956 only a few artists as mastered by an outstanding old masters art today casting characterized -nature studies.

Hermann Gunther's preferred graphical procedures is the aquatint, which produces semitones above surface etching. This intaglio technique invented in the romance is suitable to reproduce delicate semitones; Aquatint graphics resemble washed ink drawings. So, considered to be one of the most difficult but also the most picturesque techniques the aquatint and was used extensively by artists such as Francisco Goya and Joan Miro. Since aquatint plates are especially sensitive, they are only for small limited editions- and particularly interesting for collectors and connoisseurs.

From 2005 to 2007 Gunther Hermann was a lecturer at the Department of Art Education at the University of Giessen. Many of his works are in private ownership and public collections.

The field of graphic arts, that includes artistic representations, which are reproduced by various printing techniques.

Printmaking techniques include woodcuts, copperplate engraving, etching, lithography, serigraphy.
