"We are obliged to give water back to the nature as clean as we have taken it." (Friedensreich Hundertwasser, painter, architect and ecologist)
The WasserStiftung (WaterFoundation): The WasserStiftung approach is characterised by one simple question: How can we provide enough clean water for human beings? We have to create water structures that are adapted to the everyday life of the people, their cultures, their environment, and their technical and financial possibilities.
A few weeks before his death, Friedensreich Hundertwasser took over the patronage for the WasserStiftung (WaterFoundation), one of the artist's life-long concerns. Hundertwasser drew his first drafts for a water glass on 21 April 1993.
The Rainy Day Waterglasses for Life were manufactured by Royal Porcelain Manufacture Tettau. Each glass is burned at 600 degrees Celsius, has 14 facets and hand-printed in 13 colours, each with a volume of 0.2 litres. The Rainy Day Waterglasses for Life are delivered in an ornamental gift box, secured with a special plate foam.
With the purchase of any gift box set (2 pieces, 6 pieces or 7 pieces) you can support WasserStiftung with a donation of (€5, €10 or €18).
Further information about WasserStiftung can be found at www.wasserstiftung.de.
