Replica "Canopic lid of queen Kiya", Artificial Casting

The beautifully shaped Canopic cover in the shape of a woman's head with a wide collar was used for the closure of a large jug. A total of four of these canopic jars made of calcite, were prepared for the funeral of Queen Kiya, a secondary wife of Akhenaten. For unknown reasons, they were reused in later years - after the amendment of some details - on the occasion of the funeral of the Kv55 so as location is the final resting place of this ruler in the Valley of the Kings.

Original: Agyptisches Museum, Cairo. Egypt, New Kingdom, 18th Dynasty,. Around 1340 BC., Alabaster.
