Sabine Schierhorn: Painting "Hearts in Universe" - Ars Mundi donates EUR 100

Colorful hearts for the Hamburg Daytime Children hospice "Children Life". Ars mundi donates 100 euros for each sold picture.

Can art make the life better, at least only a little? It can, when it starts to serve to a good purpose. Like the artist Sabine Schierhorn (born 1965) did, when created the colorful graphic work "Hearts in the Universe". 199 high-quality reproductions of her big-size work are prepared to help the hospice "Children Life". There a team of highly professional nurses, phychologists and therapists take care of ill children.

All the involved worked for this project for free: Sabine redused from the honorar, the fine art printers and the frame master took money for the materials only. So ars mundi can spend 100 euros from each sold picture for the hospice.

Colorful giclee piece on 308g hand-made photo Rag. Through the high resolution and the excellent quality of paper the brilliant effect of the bright colours is visible. Limited edition of 199 copies, signed and numbered. Sheet size 80 x 80 cm. Framed in demanding solid wood gallery framing. Dust-proof glass. Size 86 x 86 cm

Giclée = derived from the French verb gicler meaning "to squirt, spray".

Giclée method is a digital printing process. It is a high-resolution, large-format printout on an inkjet printer with special different coloured or pigment-based inks (usually six to twelve). The colours are light-fast, that is, resistant to harmful UV light. They have a high richness of nuance, contrast and saturation.

The Giclée process is suitable for real art canvas, handmade and watercolor paper and for silk.
