Vittorio Luigi Tessaro: Sculpture "Nudo Nuovo" (1992), Version in Artificial Marble, Bronzed

The sun of Venice will put gold in your hair ... Such Rilke verses may come to mind to the fun of the lagoon city, its traditional life and love to art when one encounters Terèsa. Tessaro, a Venetian sculptor specializing in sporty girls with tight body shapes in dramatic positions, salutes her with a tired awakening from wild dreams of the young day, with the churning sheet hinting at her emotional arousal.

Carrara marble granules with bronze effect -finish. Artist's signature on the statuette. Height 32 cm. Weight approx. 5.4 kg.

Tessaro was born in Tuscany in 1958 and grew up in the surroundings of Vicenza. He was the greatest modern talent of the Venetian school, who worked as a freelancer and on Commission after his graduation from art.

Tessaro dominates the classical language of art, dreamy but yet clear. Tessaros sculptures represent confident young women, whose graceful, erotic charisma she's holding in natural poses. Carrara marble, he designed his overly slender woman sculptures with a Dexterity that is expressed in the virtuoso mastery of form and an infinitely delicate modelling of the surface: hymns to the female beauty.

Marble powder bound by a polymer. Artificial marble is characterized by a fine white surface that comes very close to marble.

Polymers

A plastic work of sculptural art made of wood, stone, ivory, bronze or other metals.

While sculptures from wood, ivory or stone are made directly from the block of material, for bronze casting a working model is prepared at first. Usually it is made of clay or other easily shaped materials.

The prime time of sculpture after the Roman antiquity was the Renaissance. Impressionism gave a new impulse to the sculptural arts. Also the contemporary artists, such as Jorg Immendorf, Andora, and Markus Lupertz enriched the sculpture with outstanding works.
