Artificial bronze + shell limestone | Format 43 x 25 x 13,5 cm
The "Lupa Capitolina" is the emblem of Rome and the symbol of power and security - and stands for the fascinating history of the Roman Empire. According to the legend the founding fathers of Rome, the twins Romulus and Remus, were abandoned as children and raised by a she-wolf. Strength, courage, and fight in the heart was the wolf's heritage to her pupils. The sculpture group stood on the Capitol as a sign of power - and was struck by lightning in 65 BC, as Cicero handed down "drawn by the gods."
Original: Bronze, Palazzo dei Conservatori, Rome. 5th century BC Chr.
Polymeric art casting with bronzed surface. Reduction. On shell limestone base. Format incl. Base 43 x 25 x 13.5 cm.
