Galatea, in her shell boat drawn by dolphins, is surrounded by mythical creatures. Unlike the sea nymph, Amor, symbolizing platonic love, is to be seen only hidden behind a cloud, in the upper left corner. Taking as reference the golden section, he appears just above Galatea's forelocks, thus designating the celestial realm, the lower part comprising the representation of the earthly life.
Original: Fresco, Villa Farnesina, Rome.
The original was transferred in fine art giclée technique directly on art canvas and stretched on a wedge frame. Limited edition, 499 exemplars, with serially numbering and certificate on the backside. Framed in hand-made genuine wood museum framing gilded with leaf gold. Format 61 x 79 cm. Exclusively at ars mundi.
