“The Eternal Bridegroom” was a favourite motif of the artist during his lifetime: the admirer elegantly gives the flower bouquet to his beloved. Under the pressure of collectors Spitzweg painted this motif in a couple of slightly different variations. Now it is available at ars mundi as a romantic table sculpture. Our sculptural variant precisely represents the Spitzweg’s original, including such details as fall of folds, quiff and flowers. A perfect present for a beloved person, a heartily thanksgiving and a stylish declaration of love!
Sculptural version after the oil painting which was created in 1858-60. Casted by hand. Format 9 x 21.5 x 10 cm (w/h/d). Edition in metal casting with bronze patina. Painted and patinated by hand.
