Nicolaus Ott (born in 1947), is an internationally renowned graphic designer, that produces typographic works in which image and text permeate each other. In his latest series, he combines the name of a great artist and distinctive imagery. The result is his own, constructivist-inspired images. The stylistic idiom of Otts is at the same time timeless as modern, traditional and avant-garde, restrained and determined, precise and elaborate.

Since 1978, Nicolaus Ott has written German design history together with Bernhard Stein with his posters, signets, and book designs. Until 2004, they mainly designed for Berlin cultural institutions, artists, architects and publishers. Among other things, the logos for the "State Museum in Berlin," the "German Historical Museum" and the "Weimar Art Exhibitions" as well as the "Center for Art and Media Technology" in Karlsruhe were created in the studio Ott + Stein.
