Short description
Limited, 499 copies | Numbered | Reproduction on an aluminum plate under acrylic glass | Format 96 x 75 cm (H/W) | Suspension device
Main Road and Side Roads is one of the most famous paintings by Paul Klee. It belonged to the group of his numerous layers and stripes and was created in January 1929 after Klee's second trip to Egypt. He uses it to process light and color experiences - the atmospheric key to understanding an ancient culture. The blue of the Nile, the yellow-orange of the Egyptian sun and the color layers of the decorative ribbons in the burial chambers of Assuan. Original: 1929, oil on canvas, 83 x 67 cm, Museum Ludwig, Cologne.
The reproduction on two levels shown here impressively directs the viewer's gaze to the central message of the picture. This modern way of rendering on acrylic glass allows a high color brilliance and at the same time unfolds a hitherto unknown presence in the room. Classics of art history become modern spatial objects.
Dimension 2: Reproduction on 2 levels behind 3 mm thick acrylic glass on aluminum plate, limited to 499 copies and numbered. Overall size 96 x 75 cm (H / W). Section 2. Level 84 x 26 cm (H / W). With a suspension device.
