Short description

Andreas Weische: Painting "The Falcon"

The image of the falcon unites quite different, thousand-year-old meanings. In ancient Egypt the falcon (Horus) was the god of heavens and light. In many cultures the creature was famous for its beauty, and for its sharp sight it was crowned to the leader of hunting animals.
Even in the immediate past, the fast hawk gave its name to cars and airplanes - so it was perceived not only as a bird but also as a kind of mirror into which humans projected their desires and dreams.

High quality fine art giclée museum reproduction in 7 colors on artist cotton canvas. Limited to 199 copies. Signed and numbered by the artist on the back side. Like an original painting stretched on the wooden stretcher (adjustable for wedging by wedges). Format 80 x 80 cm. ars mundi special edition.

Giclée = derived from the French verb gicler meaning "to squirt, spray".

Giclée method is a digital printing process. It is a high-resolution, large-format printout on an inkjet printer with special different coloured or pigment-based inks (usually six to twelve). The colours are light-fast, that is, resistant to harmful UV light. They have a high richness of nuance, contrast and saturation.

The Giclée process is suitable for real art canvas, handmade and watercolor paper and for silk.
