Short description
Limited, 499 copies | Numbered certificate | Reproduction on canvas | Artistic varnish | Stretched | Framed | Format 57 x 48 cm (H/W)
The most popular painting of Jan Vermeer is the portrait of the "Girls with A Pearl Earring" created in 1665. The fame is evoked by the modern aura of the painting: the girl is portrayed in close proximity, without narrative attributes and interacts with viewers looking directly in their eyes with a slightly opened mouth. The clothing of the girl was painted with the rough clear colors. Especially bright is the pearl in the ear of the girl, which repeats the shining of her eyes. By now it is unknown who the portrayed girl is. Possibly it was Magd Griet, described in the novel by Tracy Chevaliers, which was filmed in 2003 by the director Peter Webber and nominated for three Oscars.
Original: oil on canvas, 44.5 x 39 cm, Mauritshius Museum Den Haag.
The accurate reproduction was performed in the patended technique on artistic canvas and traditionally stretched on canvas. The motif surface with visible linen structure and brush strokes underlines the effect of the original painting. Covered with artistic varnish. In the hand-made solid wood museum framing with golden inlay. Limited edition of 499 copies, with a back-side numbered certificate. Format framed 57 x 48 cm (H/W).
