Marion Marion Eichmann finds the inspiration for her objects, drawings, installations and collages in her everyday surroundings like a telephone, a broom or a book, a street scene or a look out the window. She considerably reduces her motifs, so that they present the contours like in a sketch, but the essential details always remain recognizable.

The artist fixes every new idea with a pencil. Then she solidifies the lines with the liner. She doesn't apply paints with the brush. She uses Canson fine-art paper, which is cut out and pasted, often in several layers that model the color and create a relief. This creates fascinating object boxes that invite you to look and discover.

Eichmann, born in 1974 in Essen, studied textile and surface design at the Kunsthochschule Berlin Weissensee where he has received a master degree. For her diploma work, she had knitted an interior of a room that took her precisely 16,324,800 stitches.

She has received numerous prizes and exhibited her works in numerous national and international exhibitions. The artist teaches others.
