Namazbek Chekirov: Painting "Berlin by Night" (2008)

Berlin by Night: a symbol of awakening and renewal. In unobtrusive but still vibrant colours Namazbek Chekirov designed very special metropolitan impressions, in which he managed to capture the movement of the moment in a modern language. Each of these giclée graphics on the original artist canvas renders the brushstrokes and structures with such precision that it creates the impression of the original painting. Each canvas is traditionally stretched over stretcher frames and individually numbered by hand on the reverse side and signed by the artist.

Giclée on real art canvas, 2008. Limited edition of 750 copies, numbered and signed on the reverse side. Stretched over stretcher frames, format 90 x 90 cm. In sophisticated solid wood studio frame with a shadow gap. Format 94 x 94 cm.

Namazbek Chekirov was born on February 6, 1979 in the former Soviet republic in a remote region in Kyrgyzstan. He was fascinated by the painting of nature, especially flowers, animals, as well as regions and towns from the early age. His painting offers us extraordinary impressions and authentic details. In his paintings, the time seems to stand still and yet they remain appealing and delicate. Figurative painting is another thematic priority of his works.

When Chekirov visited the New York metropolis for the first time, he was simply overwhelmed. He immediately began photographing homes and neighborhoods. Later he turned them into his paintings. In his works New York is portrayed as a melting pot of cultures, as the light-flooded heartbeat of modernity. Strong penetrating colors help him to present the momentary impressions of the big in a modern language of art.

Giclée = derived from the French verb gicler meaning "to squirt, spray".

Giclée method is a digital printing process. It is a high-resolution, large-format printout on an inkjet printer with special different coloured or pigment-based inks (usually six to twelve). The colours are light-fast, that is, resistant to harmful UV light. They have a high richness of nuance, contrast and saturation.

The Giclée process is suitable for real art canvas, handmade and watercolor paper and for silk.
