The painter and graphic artist Andrew Francis was born on the 16.02.1948 in London. He completed his studies at Haverstock Hill School, Hampstead, and at Willisden Polytechnic. Francis teaches painting at Cunninghamsin Covent Garden.

He used mainly in his paintings and drawings acrylic and pastel, as a graphical techniques, etching, lithography and screen printing.

Exhibitions: Hitchin Art Gallery, Newport, The New Rembrandt Gallery Newport, as well as group exhibitions in England, France, Spain and the Netherlands.

Representation of typical scenes of daily life in painting, which can distinguish between peasant, bourgeois and courtly themes.

The genre reached its peak and immense popularity in the Dutch painting of the 17th century. In the 18th century, especially in France, the courtly and gallant painting comes to the fore while in Germany the bourgeois character was emphasised.

The field of graphic arts, that includes artistic representations, which are reproduced by various printing techniques.

Printmaking techniques include woodcuts, copperplate engraving, etching, lithography, serigraphy.
