The Dane Arne Emil Jacobsen is considered one of the most important international designers and architects of the 20th century. At the age of 23, he won the silver medal at the Paris World's Fair in 1925 for one of his first chair designs. The purist approached the design of his buildings on a single basis - from 1956 to 1961 he created the design, planned and architectured the Royal Hotel of the Danish airline SAS. The hotel was the last major project of the great Scandinavian artist. Stanley Kubrick selected Jacobsen's cutlery AJ: as a prop piece for his classic film 2001: A Space Odyssey. Jacobsen's designs are to be assigned to the functionalism and remain classic toll today, as they optimally suit modern living spaces.
