Katy Feuersenger
Katy Feuersenger was born in 1976 in Stendal and studied Fine Arts at the University of Fine Arts in Braunschweig and in Nantes.
"For the drawings by Katy Feuersenger one should open the eyes a little bit further," wrote the Ruhr News in Dortmund on the occasion of an exhibition of the young artist. In her delicate works, Feuersenger examines the formal aspect of language and transforms French, English or German sentence fragments, letters, and words into graphic compositions that elude legibility and open up entirely new pictorial spaces. Notes become detached into points, hatchings or areas and their content of the communication, yet unfold a mysterious poetry.
The artist, who lives in Duesseldorf, has already exhibited in such renowned institutions as the House of Art t in Munich, the Kunstmuseum Basel, the Museum of Modern Art in Geneva and the Kunstverein Hannover.
