Erró
The Icelandic artist Erró (born in 1932) is one of the great individualists in the art of the 20th century. Pop and baroque, striking and narrative, socio-critical and humorous, moral and abysmal he created a unique collection of works in more than 50 years.
His style oscilates between pop art and surrealism. Always looking after treasures for his visual work Erró Europe, Asia and the USA. Erró prefers to separate relatives and unite strangers. He brings history into a current context and combines masterpieces of art history with comics or science fiction motifs. In his collages he combined picture templates from popular sources int tableaux.
In France, his adopted home, his name is spoken with the same exhalation as that of Roy Lichtenstein.
