Luigi Colani, born in Berlin, founded in 1955 his legendary design workshop, with which he celebrated his spectacular success in a very short time: Golden Rose in Geneva for the Fiat 1100 TV, the legendary sports car Colani GT, working for Alfa Romeo, Lancia, VW and BMW.
With his furniture creations Colani became the world-renowned star of design in the 60s. This was followed by countless award-winning designs, future studies and product world-renowned manufacturers with which Luigi Colani decisively shaped the image of modern design, for example, his SLR camera Canon T90, Sony headphones that were included in the New York Museum of Modern Art, computers, and many others.
An inexhaustible wealth of forms runs through his work like a leitmotiv. Since 1991 he has been inspiring provider of ideas for NASA. Colani's designs can be found in many museums around the world including the permanently exhibited design collection of the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich.
