The works of Arno Brekers, Freund von Maillol, Liebermann, Fuchs und Dali belong to the most famous creations of the european art history.
Arno Becker developed his own beauty ideal, which was rooted in the antique and Rennaissance art, yet possessed incomparable autonomy. Like no other, he preserved his fidelity to beauty and harmony in the visual arts in a century of two world wars. Despite the instrumentalization of his art by the Nazis, after 1945, Breker remained one of the internationally recognized German artists. In Paris, his style was referred to as the "Nouvelle École".
His outstanding sculptural and graphic genius was admired by artists who were themselves famous for their technical skills, such as Salvador Dalí or Ernst Fuchs. The French writer and cultural scientist Roger Peyrefitte honored Arno Breker in 1980 as the "Michelangelo of our time" and commented on his work: "Arno Breker is a beacon of art whose light shines into the new millennium."
"Ingenious, ingenious" - this is how Dali characterized his friend.
Alexander Calder said of Breker in New York: "Arno Breker is the most important sculptor of the classical tradition of our time."
