Wilhelm Busch
The painter, drawer and the writer Wilhelm Busch (1832-1908) thanks to his humoristic painted stories was the most famous artist of his time. He is known as a founder of contemporary caricature. His rhymes and images are considered to be the central masterpiece of the German cultural wealth.
He studied in Antwerp, Munich, and Dusseldorf. According to his word the best life of his time was 1841 – 46 when he studied in Eberzothzen where he together with the son of miller Erich Bachmann had a lot of fun. This friendship and mutual childhood memories evolved into famous stories in seven volumes: “Max and Moriz” which is the most translated and read book in the world.
