More than 200 individual and group exhibitions support his fame as a classic of this art movement. Simce 1972 he exhibited his works in the documenta 5 in Kassel. In 1973 there appeared a color etching under the title “Blondi”. Berges transformed a portrait of a girl from advertisement into a wonderful pop-art work, typical for his times with the help of graphic stripes, screen dots and light, clear basic colors. The motif became extremely famous in a couple of days and remains a demanded work of art up to nowadays. The works of Werner Berger send a signal of “easy-living”, bound with a hint of erotic. They are understood, loved and collected round the world. In his works Berges allienates faces and bodies of some unknown beautiful women and reaches the compositions of great, formal and colorful beauty with abstract elements which he inserts into pictures under the surfaces, compositions of the great formal and colorful beauty.
