As poet of the line, he eludes the easy classification by fashionable art currents. He places linear shapes in the center of his work. An elemental, need of artistic expression, a creative drive lead to barely manageable wealth of new forms. Winged by an incredibly resourceful imagination, Simon Dittrich opens to us a poetical world of adventures and fabulous.
Simon Dittrich’s etchings are art works bringing our own world to our eyes in a playful and joyful manner. By small allusions and humorous details, they draw attention to situations, invite to accurate look and, maybe, even to reflection and reconsideration.
In his cityscapes, he reflects the characteristic, the typical and also lets so many beautiful details of a free spirit flow into his representations, that they fascinate and touch us. Dittrich turns the world into images of great beauty and best humor.
