The artist, who was born in Berlin in 1947 Barbara Quandt is a passionate figure painter, in which the man is in the centre. She studied at the Academy of fine arts in Berlin with the professors Hans Kuhn and K. H. Hodicke. After scholarships in London, New York and Berlin, she finds her topics on numerous trips and visits abroad, including in Tanzania, USA, Buenos Aires, Madrid, Venice and Alaska. The various impressions processed in her painting, combining the motif of longing and the strangers on her own style. One can assign Barbara Quandt the radius of the "Neue Wilde". Her style is loose, the subject matter a tangibly show abstract painting: rich, superimposed colour areas, in which figures and animals find their place. Barbara Quandts works exude sensuality, emotion and immediacy. "Life a funny side inclined" is her motto. The artist lives and works in Berlin.
