The state symbol of doctors reminds of the transformation of Asclepius. In his cult site Epidaurus arrived in 293 BC a delegation to free god Rom from a terrible plague. Ovid reported in his "Metamorphoses" that Asclepius went on board the Roman ship in the form of a snake and brought rescue to Rom. Hohberger created a monument full of vitality and elasticity for the healing god.
Bronze edition. Total height 43 cm incl. the marble plinth, plinth 10 x 10 cm. Limited world edition of 199 pieces, signed and numbered. Cast using the lost-wax method.
